Extrutech's solid deck is built for outdoor floors, from patios and gardens to pool decks, walkways and plazas. It's the only product in our WPC line made for foot traffic, and it's built to stay out in the weather. How tough a floor needs to be depends on traffic. A backyard patio sees far fewer people than a hotel or a shopping center. That's why it has no hollow cores, so it works on homes and commercial jobs alike.

Solid all the way through, so it feels firm underfoot

Most WPC decking on the market is hollow. Solid Deck is solid all the way through, with continuous material across the whole board and no hollow cores. You can feel the difference when you walk on it. The floor feels firm and doesn't sound hollow, and it holds up for years under heavy foot traffic at a hotel or commercial property. That premium feel is what sets a well-built deck apart.

Tough, long-lasting outdoor decking
Cool Colors for barefoot comfort around the pool
Around a pool, at a beach club or on a sunny patio, people go barefoot. Our Cool Colors, Sand and Off-white, are made for those spaces. These light tones absorb less heat than darker colors, so the surface is easier on bare feet in the Texas sun. The finish has a pleasant texture and looks natural next to the water.
Solid decking for patios, pool decks and rooftops
Solid Deck is WPC composite decking for the outdoor spaces where people gather, from a backyard patio to a hotel pool deck or a commercial rooftop. It has the warm look of wood, feels firm underfoot and is built to stay outdoors year-round, without the rot and splintering that weather causes in natural wood.
Color and length to fit your spec
When the job calls for it, we adapt the deck to the spec, not the other way around. Our 13 colors run from classic warm tones to modern neutrals, and on volume orders of 700 boards or more we'll match your own Pantone color. Custom lengths start at 150 boards, so your crew makes fewer cuts and fewer seams. Six are stock colors, and the other seven are made to order starting at 200 boards.

The patio stops being the part of the house that wears out and becomes part of your living space again.

Floor to ceiling: one system, one palette
The deck is just one part of the system. Wall Cladding, Grooved Panel and Decorative Beams are made in the same plant with the same formula, so the color on the patio floor carries up to the soffit and the pergola beams. Your customer gets one system, not a mix of parts that have to be matched later.

Hit the deck: the floor here is Solid Deck.
The warmth of wood, with color that lasts for years
Solid Deck has the warmth and grain of natural wood, without the problems wood has outdoors. Its Max Shield cap is co-extruded — part of the board itself, not a coating that peels — and holds its color through sun and rain. Batch-to-batch color variation is too small for the eye to see, so when you reorder next season, the boards match. The deck you install today looks just as good season after season and won't turn gray like untreated wood.

Solid Deck
Build outdoor floors that hold up, with a solid board that feels firm under every step.
Capped on all four sides, cleans with soap and water
The Max Shield cap wraps all four sides of every Solid Deck board, and we get the matte finish without brushing the cap, so it stays intact. Care is simple. Soap and water is all it takes, and there's no sanding, staining or repainting like natural wood needs. That saves maintenance hours every year on a home patio, and even more at a hotel or commercial property, where every service call adds up.

Frequently asked questions about outdoor Solid Deck(WPC decking for patios and pools)
Don't see your question about Solid Deck here? Contact us and we'll get back to you shortly.
- What is Solid Deck?
- Solid Deck is a composite deck board for outdoor floors, installed over a joist frame rather than laid directly on the ground. It's used on patios, rooftops, pool decks and pavilions. It looks like wood, but it's made of WPC, a composite of wood fiber and polymer, so it won't rot or splinter and never needs stain.
- What does “solid” mean?
- The board is solid all the way through, with none of the hollow cores or chambers found in many other WPC deck boards. You can feel it when you walk on it. The floor is firm and doesn't sound hollow. On the outside, the co-extruded Max Shield cap wraps all four sides, protects the board from sun, rain and moisture, and gives it a matte finish made without brushing the cap.
- Does it get hot in the sun?
- Like any outdoor surface, it heats up in direct sun, and dark colors absorb more heat than light ones. Around pools and in spots that get full sun all day, we recommend our Cool Colors, Sand and Off-white. They're the lightest tones of Solid Deck and easier on bare feet. Both are made to order, starting at 100 boards.
- Can I use it around a pool?
- Yes. Pool decks are one of its most common uses, along with patios, rooftops and pavilions. The Max Shield cap protects the board from constant moisture, and WPC doesn't rot like wood. Since people go barefoot there, a light color is the better choice. Just make sure the frame drains well so water doesn't pool under the deck.
- Can I use it indoors?
- No. We sell and recommend Solid Deck for outdoor use only, on patios, rooftops, pool decks, pavilions and commercial plazas. Its Max Shield cap is made for the weather, so indoors you'd be paying for protection you don't need. Covered patios, pavilions and covered pool areas that still get some sun and rain do count as outdoors.
- How far apart should the joists be?
- We recommend spacing joists 12 to 16 inches (30 to 40 cm) apart. At that spacing the boards are well supported and the floor feels firm, with no bounce underfoot. Boards attach to the frame with hidden clips, so no screw heads show on the finished deck. Before you start, ask us for the deck installation guide or tell us about your project.
- How much maintenance does it need?
- Very little. The most important thing is to sweep it often, since rainwater drains through the gaps between boards and debris can clog them. For a deeper clean, all you need is water, mild soap and a soft-bristle brush. No sanding, staining or sealing. Avoid solvents, paint thinner and abrasive pads, which can damage the surface.
- How many boards do I need per square foot?
- About 27 boards per 100 square feet (2.93 per square meter). Each board is 8 ft long, 5.5 in wide and 0.87 in thick (244 × 14 × 2.2 cm). For a quote, simple math isn't enough, because cuts, edges and the framing layout all factor in. Send us the dimensions of your patio or pool deck and we'll help you figure out how many boards and clips you need.
- Can I reorder the same color later?
- Yes. Every co-extruded board goes through batch-to-batch color control, so the boards you order next season match the ones you install this season. Six are stock colors, and the other seven are made to order. You'll find the color and lab data for Solid Deck on its data sheet.
